By now, I assume that the majority of SciLight readers have heard the news—Joe Biden has stepped aside as the Democratic candidate in this year’s presidential election.
What an uninformed piece of mindless cheer leading. Both the current and emerging agency scientific integrity policies offer no meaningful protection for either science or scientists. Moreover, nothing in any policy would act as an effective check against a new Trump administration. The most notable failure of the Biden initiative was its failure to follow through on the mandate to identify the weaknesses in current policies.
