Following the news these days may be a health hazard. I understand that it is good to elevate your heart rate regularly, but exercise rather than anger and disbelief is probably a better approach. Rather than read the latest outrageous or terrifying article about each Trump nominee, we at SciLight want to ease your path a bit. That’s why we created the Trump 2.0 Scientific Appointments tracker.
This appointments tracker will allow you to easily see the proposed senior-level political appointments for critical science positions in federal agencies and the White House. While we will continue to write about the details of specific nominees for confirmation by the Senate or direct appointments (not all positions are so-called PAS in Washington parlance, Presidential Appointments Senate confirmed), the tracker allows SciLighters to see a running tally.
We aim to keep you informed as the US science enterprise undergoes the changes a new administration brings. We hope this new tracker is helpful and you will share it with your colleagues. And, of course, encourage them to subscribe to SciLight, too!
That’s it for today - Thank you so much for reading SciLight!
